Unit Clerk

Nursing Unit Clerk assists the professional and paraprofessional staff and physicians by performing clerical duties and serves as receptionist for the patient care areas in a professional and caring manner. Knowledge of patient care standards and general office practices normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma or equivalent, and courses in computer applications and medical terminology. Graduation from an accredited vocational technical adult education program for unit clerks (VTAE) or an approved unit clerk program, or training/education to meet job requirements. Annual accrual of CEUs/continuing education requirements per Education Council recommendation for the given year. Two years of experience as a unit clerk beneficial.
