Technical Writer (Health Communications)Provides expert-level public inquiry response writing and content development for large, diverse health communication programs.

Must have expertise communicating with diverse audiences, both lay and professional, using plain language to respond to a variety of health issues.

Extensive experience developing, updating, and maintaining standard responses on a broad range of health-related topics.

Broad understanding or direct experience working with CDC health campaigns and awareness events.

Must have ability to update and maintain content efficiently and effectively in content database.

Detailed-oriented with expert ability to provide writing, editing, and research support for material/content development of health communications written publications, texts, documents, fact sheets, scripts, training materials and for potential Web sites.

Performs quality review of all deliverables.

Daily Responsibilities Continued Subject matter expertise with ability to make analytical judgments to write public inquiry within the context of public health concerns.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills Exceptional attention to detail and quality assurance Organize material and completes writing assignment according to established client standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology within short deadlines.

Ability to work individually and as a member of a team to ensure consistency in development and presentation of consolidated information as well as facilitation of seamless flow of information from outside sources Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by otherwriters Possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work according to established deadlines and relative importance of work as well; ability to work within short turn around times Ability to meet and/or exceed established program evaluation metric Required: Years of experience (min) 3-5 Required: Degree Masters Required: Skills 3-5 years of answering public inquiry on a variety of health topics via emails and phone.

3-5 years of writing health communications for the general public using plain language.

Experience working with CDC or other HHS agencies.
