Position Description

Under the direction of the District Manager and through personal attention and involvement in the execution of company merchandising and operational programs and direction, the Store Manager is responsible for aggressively driving store sales growth and profits by ensuring a friendly, well-trained customer responsive workforce that is highly visible on the sales floor. By personal example, the Store Manager maintains a pace-setting standard with a high sense of urgency, high energy level, attention to detail and a philosophy of hands-on management. He/She ensures that the Lowe's Vision of providing superior service to customers is achieved daily through personal involvement in the hiring, orientation and continuous training and mentoring of all employees. The Store Manager constantly demonstrates Lowe's corporate culture of concern for people by treating employees as individuals with dignity and respect.





Position Requirements

-Must apply for consideration during the five day posting period 11/3/09-11/9/09

- Must have graduated from the Store Management Training Program (SMTP), have twelve (12) months experience as a Lowe's Operations, Administrative, Sales or Zone Manager or twelve (12) months of experience in an equivalent position with another home center and/or mass retailer

- Must not have any Class A or B written warnings in the past 6 (six) months

- Performance must be rated as Achieving Expectations (or higher) on last PPA

- Schedule determined based on the needs of the store.

- Must have achieved acceptable audit scores and inventory results

- Must have a willingness to relocate within the region

- Current Store Managers must be in their current position and store at least twelve (12) months in order to apply





Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have high volume retail management experience.
