Department Overview The Consumer Business Unit is committed to enabling consumers to work and play freely in a connected world by protecting them on any device, anywhere, at any time. Responsibilities Responsibilities This position will develop and manage global retail segmentation concepts to drive incremental increases in bookings to our renewing retail customer set and will be held accountable for delivering against quarterly sales goals and forecasts.
This could include many different sales techniques, but as a minimum includes: Develop and Optimize the online renewal experience for our customers renewing online for the first time after a purchase in the retail channel.
Track and monitor the retail channel offers and trends and utilize that information to drive the online experience and offers.
Collaborate with regional sales team on retail trends within regions.
Utilize web analysis tools and metrics to analyze the results of online sales efforts and make sales optimization recommendations based on data In-depth knowledge about consumer e-commerce, such as web site and cart/checkout optimization, testing strategies, purchaser flows, selling tools (e.g. comparison charts, product selector), increasing cart close rates, and e-commerce operations is required.
Must have the ability to identify opportunities and follow through to execution, while working with outside vendor and cross-functional teams. This role will require cross-functional work with several other Symantec teams to implement sales initiatives. A close relationship with cross-functional teams such as Product Development and IT is essential, as they manage or direct much of the work to maintain customer flows through the backend entitlement system. Other organizations with whom this person will work includes PM, eComm Marketing, GSS, Finance and Legal.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent 4-6 years experience sales, retail software sales or online ecommerce field Ability to work with cross-functional team to achieve sales objectives Ability to identify opportunities and follow through to execution and results analysis Ability to present a professional appearance and demeanor Ability to manage at least one other person Comfortable with sales forecasting and number-crunching. Preferred Background will include working as part of a successful sales team within a large company.
