QA Engineer - Beauty Avenues - Columbus, OH

Experienced technical associate responsible for performing functions to develop and administer quality management systems; to assure product quality excellence; and to protect brand equity. Expectations for this role will be to facilitate and mentor other associates regarding technical matters and lead highly technical projects and issue resolutions. May be responsible for technical products as the needed.

Typically reports to Sr Specialist or Manager, Quality Assurance. No direct reports



RESPONSIBLITIES:

Quality Control Issue Management (20%)

* Perform QC evaluations on individual products.

* Facilitate evaluation and methods of test data analysis

* Evaluate data for trends leading to Corrective Actions.

* Able to use and teach use of basic QC measuring tools.

* Facilitate inspections on product qtys.

* Facilitate programs to reduce QC work.



QA Program Execution (50%)

* Facilitate/Lead new project risk assessment (product, design, package, etc) to evaluate risks and initiate contingency plans.

* Partner with the brands to understand QA needs and facilitate alignment with the business goals.

* Monitor and manage post launch quality performance.

* Provide technical and investigative support to vendors and cross-functional partners.

* Assist in scale-up production and implementation of new and reformulated products.

* Facilitate investigation process or product deviations and implement corrective actions.



Vendor Performance (30%)

* Provide technical support to worldwide contract manufacturing operations.

* Communicate Quality Assurance policies and procedures to vendors and internal cross-functional partners.

* Develop vendor launch plans as part of Quality Planning process.

* Manage vendor\'s performance and troubleshoot issues to drive continuous improvement.

* Manage first production req\'ts at vendors and perform in-line process inspections.

* Perform inspections of merchandise to determine acceptability of product and compliance to specifications, as needed.



Talent Management and Development (10%)

* Individual Development Plans/Personal Performance Objectives Creation

* Assists in Onboarding new associates5+ years quality, engineering or other related technical experience on multiple product lines.

Facilitate quality planning, project management, quality control processes, statistical techniques and GMP.

Strong problem solving skills.

Comfortable performing multifaceted projects along with day-to-day activities

Ability to establish credibility and be decisive

Service oriented but assertive and persuasive

Able to interact with all levels of personnel and management (internally or externally)

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to lead effectively within a team environment.

Ability to travel (30 to 40%) domestically and internationally.

Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, Physical or Natural Sciences.
