Job Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Applies extensive knowledge of engineering principles and practices.

Makes project level decisions relative to developing design criteria and design approach on specific

projects.

Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating engineering projects,

which have, may have unique or complex technical or project execution requirements.

Works with the Design Supervisors and Department Manager to define project objectives, prepare

design estimates, and define project requirements and design approaches for large or complex projects.

May function as project leader/advisor or Project Engineer on multi-discipline projects.

Must be capable of directing design teams on multiple projects simultaneously.

Monitors project execution milestones and schedules to ensure projects are completed on schedule.

Performs technical and coordination checking/ review of deliverables and other project documents.

Follows up on construction issues with design staff to resolve problems and concerns in a timely manner.

Works with the Department Manager to select project teams and may supervise other engineers and

designers on projects.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to identify, analyze, and solve the difficult technical problems related to specialty area.

Possess aptitude for computing and design.

Possess good verbal and written communication skills.

Possess good interpersonal skills to build relationships and work effectively in a team environment.

Possess willingness to accept responsibility for technical adequacy of all output.

Possess willingness to contribute to development of Mesa safety requirements, and adheres to

customer safety requirements.

Possess working knowledge of computers and software such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and

software used for specific technical applications within the department.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS:
Senior level engineering position requiring a four-year technical degree in engineering and a minimum

of 15 years progressively responsible experience.

Professional registration is highly desirable for this position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS:
Normal office environment with occasional field trips to plant sites requiring ability to walk and climb

stairs or ladders in a plant or industrial environment occasionally requiring occasional overnight (or

longer) stays.
