HR Assistant - HR Assistant in Washington DCDESCRIPTION:

Graham Staffing Services is partnering with a Washington, DC government organization in order to find a qualified HR Assistant. Government Experience is a MUST!

This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position which is paying $18-19 per hour.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assisting in the maintenance of all personnel files, local folders and scanning and indexing documents.

- Assisting with the logistics for agency human resources related functions (benefits open house, staff training and briefings, federal service ceremony, etc.).

- Receiving, processing and tracking training requests and registering employees for training.

- Assisting with administrative tasks related to recruitment and acknowledging and processing applications.

- Maintaining and tracking various human resources logs and inventories (awards, training, etc.), and maintaining item awards inventory and distributing awards to staff.

- Conducting research in the areas of federal benefits administration.

- Assisting with personnel/payroll processing, distributing mail and information to staff, filing, drafting correspondence, memoranda, etc., and other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Administrative experience in government or legal industry.

- Experience in recruitment, policy interpretation, Electronic Official Personnel Folder (e-OPE).

Demonstrated experience using a variety of computer programs (word processing, spreadsheets, data bases, etc.) to perform work.

- Excellent computer, organization and administrative office experience.

- Ability to learn in-house software systems.

- Good communication skills are necessary – both written and oral.

- Must have the ability to research, interpret and apply rules and regulations.Job type: TemporaryExperience: Entry Level
