Description PIMCO is seeking a senior credit analyst to work in its new corporate distressed credit group.The primary focus of the group is to opportunistically invest in undervalued companies that are experiencing financial distress, often leading to an active role in company restructurings.This group, which works east coast hours, will manage the investments of long-term dedicated distressed credit funds. Investments can be through-out the capital structure, across all industries and via secondary market purchases or direct placements.In addition to distressed investments, the group looks for other situations where securities trade at a discount to fundamental value.
ResponsibilitiesWork with the senior investment team to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns for our investors.The group has a flat structure and Senior Analysts will be expected to:
·Research/evaluate new distressed debt investment ideas for assigned portfolios that meet investment objective/portfolio requirements.
·Conduct extensive fundamental credit analysis: cash flow modelling/projections, valuation analysis, liquidity assessments, covenant reviews.
·Develop investment strategies and present formal recommendations to the group and internal clients
·Monitor and manage investments including leading restructurings
·Develop relationships with management teams, existing credit research analysts and contacts within the distressed debt investor community.
Requirements
·Must have at least 5 years of experience in an investing role, 2 years of which will have been with a leading distressed fund, hedge fund, proprietary trading desk or private equity firm in addition to any prior experience at an investment bank, management consultant or restructuring advisor.
·Legal training and experience in restructurings is not essential but would be viewed positively.
·Track-record of strong academic performance at a top institutions; an MBA is not required but strongly preferred.
·Superior analytical skills.
·Established relationships on both buy and sell sidesNote:Advanced stages of the application process will require the candidate to prepare and defend an investment recommendation.
