Worldwide leader in home automation has an immediate need for a Director of Systems Engineering to lead a team of Software Engineers. 

Minimum Qualifications

10+ years of engineering development experience including five or more years of management

Proven proficiency in resource allocation, staffing, and scheduling.

Proven ability to deliver strict deadlines in a fast paced environment.

BS in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.

Proficiency in Linux, Windows, C, C++ and C#. 

Understanding of computer system components, common I/O standards, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi and RS232;

Preferred Qualifications

MS in Computer Science

Working knowledge ZigBee.

Description of Duties

Define long range schedules, with substantial data driving it, to meet key company objectives.

Coordinate short and long term milestones with all other software, hardware, QA, manufacturing, marketing, and other departments.

Lead Systems Engineering teams to consistently meet milestones and objectives.

Define processes to reduce variables in the Systems Engineering process.

Mentor and provide growth opportunities for direct report engineers.

Work with direct reports to define and meet quarterly and yearly Engineering goals.

Be a key contributor to pushing departmental directives and Systems Engineering best practices such as unit testing, code reviews, and source code management practices.

Define processes to gather critical Systems Engineering and departmental metrics.

Provide detailed reports on departmental metrics.

Management of system performance, functional operation, and practical implementation.

Responsible for technical evaluations of major system enhancements and major new customer requirements. 

Act as a key driver in all system architecture activities including firmware, software and hardware designs. 

Ensure system/product architecture enhancements will be evolvable, scalable, manageable and easy to use.

Represent system engineering concerns in strategic and tactical planning meetings.
