What you need:
- Education: Registered Nurse, BSN Required, Masters preferred - Registration: Certification or on-the-job training in quality management, risk management, and peer review experience preferred. - 3-5 years experience of demonstrated skills and experience in Quality and Risk Management - Thorough knowledge of quality improvement systems and functions, ability to use basic quality statistical and analytical techniques, thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations, JCAHO and other regulatory standards. - Knowledge of risk management, peer review functions and customer satisfaction systems. - Ability to use a variety of custom and standard software programs including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
What you'll be doing:
Quality Management - Develops and maintains the organizational Quality Management Program. - Updates the Performance Improvement Plan Annually. - Coordinates QM Project reporting from all departments in the organization - Oversees investigation and root cause analysis of hospital incidents - Provide input to strategic planning process for our hospital and medical staff. - Responsible for facilitating teams in QI activities, processes and data management. Risk Management - Develops and maintains the Risk Management Program. - Updates and maintains risk reporting and risk management system including sentinel and critical event reporting and follow-up. - Responsible for determining proactive methodologies to continue a culture of patient safety and risk reduction within the organization - Reports to administration, medical staff and board on important medical/legal issues. - Directs all professional, general and product liability claims managements and legal defense activities in conjunction with insurance carriers, consultants and legal counsel. - Develops and maintains the Physician Peer Review Program. - Develops and implements house-wide customer satisfaction program. - Works with the Compliance Officer to implement the Compliance Plan.
