Description Product Engineering and Technology consists of jobs which include engineering aspects of production and processes for concept development, product definition, design analysis, test, deployment, and post delivery support. Researches, develops, analyzes, designs, and tests company products using engineering and scientific principles. Translated engineering and scientific concepts from preliminary ideas through product life cycle. Analyzes and verifies product design and performance for adequacy, including reliability. Researches and develops material and processes that support the translation from abstract concepts to functional products. Applies knowledge of engineering and scientific methods and tools to define and characterize behavior of products, services, and processes. Integrates technical, cost, value, and safety considerations into the product definition to comply with customer, regulatory and company requirements; documents results in drawing, data sets, reports, specifications, and supporting data. Interfaces with other members of the project or program teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions to meet group, organization, and company objectives. Apply knowledge of mechanical operation system design, materials, design definition principles, and regulatory/requirements in order to create mechanical system designs. Ability to evaluate designs and perform trade studies for performance, functional adequacy, cost effectiveness, and regulatory compliance Works independently. Plans research and development programs and exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives. Ensures application of best practices and identifies the need for enhanced processes, methods, and tools. Translates contract requirements into work requirements, processes, and tasks. Plans, schedules, and leads others to produce technical work responsive to customer needs within allocated budgets. Contacts customers, teaming partners, subcontractors, and suppliers to exchange technical data and to discuss project performance. Manages customer and supplier relationships and participates in development of fundamental approaches to projects and of requirements for implementation.
Requirements Requires educational credentials meeting ABET classification standards for engineers and typically a minimum of 13 years experience in an engineering classification. |
