Description The Installation Management Command (IMCOM), Pacific Region, Joint Service Family Support Network (JSFSN) requires the services of a Community Support Coordinator (CSC) to establish a comprehensive multi-agency approach for community support and services to meet the diverse needs of Active, Guard and Reserve Military Families regardless of Military affiliation or geographic location. SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES: The CSC has primary responsibility for coordination of a local Joint Service Family Support Network (JSFSN), which includes Army, Navy, Marine, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard and Reserve Family support programs (to include Child and Youth Services), as well as other Federal, State and community agencies that provide support to Military Service Members and their Families. Ensures the local implementation of JSFSN-Pacific is aligned with the IMCOM Pacific approved strategic plan. The JSFSN-Pacific Community Support Coordinators major responsibilities include the following tasks: * Develops and implements the JSFSN in the assigned local area of the Pacific Region, in coordination with the specified Army Community Service (ACS) Director (Army Reserve Center Family Program Director in Guam), IMCOM-Pacific ACS Mob/Deploy Program Manager and JSFSN Lead Analyst.
* Pro-actively networks and conducts community outreach within the assigned Pacific area to assist in developing partnerships with community based organizations and State/local government agencies for inclusion in the local JSFSN. This is critical to the support of geographically isolated Military Service Members and their Families.
* Keeps contact information, to include mail, e-mail and phone list(s), current and regularly communicates with local JSFSN members on meetings, events and training opportunities.
* Provides on-going analysis of the availability of various Family support services in the assigned area, especially in geographically isolated areas.
* Identify gaps, problem areas and deficiencies in existing support for Military Service Members and their Families by reviewing reports, visiting local programs, and gathering data from local program staff utilizing e-mail, phone, and personal contact.
* In coordination with local Active (AC) and Reserve Component (RC) Family Program managers and IMCOM - Pacific JSFSN staff, develops and coordinates implementation of a local JSFSN Action Plan to fill the gaps in delivery systems and enhance current support for all Military Families regardless of their service affiliation or location.
1. * Assists with developing a strategic communications and marketing plan to ensure maximum utilization and understanding of JSFSN by all Military Families, Military and community leaders, and service/program delivery personnel in the assigned Pacific area. Orders and/or develops marketing materials for distribution to all AC/RC Military Families and program/services in assigned area. * Makes recommendations for leveraging web-based system technology.
* Prepares and presents briefings, presentations, general and specialized correspondence for internal and external recipients.
* Analyzes data from multiple sources and prepares recurring and specialized reports for IMCOM - Pacific and FMWRC as requested. Required Skills Duties will be performed on a full time basis within the assigned area. Employee must be flexible to allow for attendance at evening and weekend training Academies, mandatory trainings and other scheduled events. The work week hours will be adjusted to meet these requirements. Extensive travel, which includes all forms of travel without any travel limitations (up to 50%) within the assigned area; city, state, region, CONUS and OCONUS, may be required in order to accomplish goals, attend trainings and coordinate with all Military Family programs and various local government and community agencies as well as with other Family network coordinators. Required Experience * A four year Bachelors degree in public administration, education, human development, social work, sociology, psychology, or counseling is preferred; or a combination of education and work experience will be considered.
* Two years experience in working with community and government agencies is required. Residents with experience living and working with the local culture and familiar with local customs, traditions, issues and deployment related issues affecting Military Families are preferred.
* Current or former Service Members, Family Members, civilian employees, or contractors of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Reserve Components will be given priority consideration.
* The individual must have a good understanding of automation skills to include MS word, Excel, Adobe, and Power Point.
* Individuals are required to possess writing skills and public speaking background using multi media presentations. Duty location will be a Schofield Barracks ACS Satellite location (Tripler Army Medical Center or Fort Shafter Flats) at the discretion of the Army Community Service (ACS) Director. If selected for this position, the individual will be required to attend Training Courses as required by the JSFSN-Pacific Program Manager, Regional Community Support Coordinator. |
