Sempra Pipelines and Storage is currently seeking for a Commercial Development Manager. This position is responsible for analyzing markets, developing pricing and marketing approach, negotiating and closing customer service agreements for pipelines and storage assets - both development phase and operating. Support / manage project development activities through market analysis, running open seasons, and negotiating precedent agreements with customers. Working with Sempra Global, manage regulatory issues including tariff development and modifications, certificate compliance, and other regulatory initiatives. Provide cross-functional management and contract negotiation support to technical development and finance teams as required. Manage & support acquisitions activities.
- Assess markets, regional gas flows, values, potential customers, regional competition and risks culminating in the development of tangible outputs such as open season results, precedent agreements and/or contracts. Develop proforma rates consistent with target financial criteria and regulatory structures. Negotiate customer agreements, ensure credit support is posted and maintained, and work through issues related to start-up.
- Provide development phase commercial management including interfacing and providing necessary information internally and to partners, as relevant. Prepare market reports, asses financial performance, summarize results for internal reporting purposes. For partners, aggregate financial information and provide key liaison on project results and activities, consistent with agreements governing that activity.
- Provide development phase management of regulatory and permitting approval process and certificate compliance, working closely with Sempra Global. Provide technical and financial contract negotiation management and support with counterparties within SP&S as needed from time to time to meet project budget and in-service objectives.
- Manage / support acquisitions activities as required in the commercial and related permitting areas.
- Manage tariff compliance of marketing and commercial activities during commercial phase of projects. Ensure tariff most closely meets the needs of the commercial team; make/suggest modifications as appropriate.
This position requires a bachelor\'s degree in engineering or analytical discipline. MBA or equivalent financial and economic experience preferred. Typically requires 5-10 years of related professional experience in natural gas markets, management and finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
