Description Business Development Manager (Chemical / Process Engineering)
Tate & Lyle is now looking for a Business Development Manager / Sales Manager to secure and deliver business for their Process Technology department. The successful candidate will oversee and manage sales contracts ensuring that the contract terms are adhered to throughout the project.
Position: Senior Business Development Manager / Sales Manager Location: East London, Nr London City Airport Salary: c£45-50K basic Benefits to include 26 days holiday, Free onsite Parking, Private Health cover, Discretionary Final Salary.

ROLE: The role will be to develop and grow a balance of business and involve working closely with various departments in Tate & Lyle Sugars to maximise benefits to the business whilst providing excellent customer service. The Business Development Manager will have to ensure technical and commercial deliverables are clearly defined that deliver the business and project plans.
Responsibilities include having direct responsibility for Process Technologys Business Development Managers and applying engineering principles to ensure that the proposals and contracts are robust. The role requires the Business Development Manager to travel to various locations around the world in order to develop business and customer relationships.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: a) Degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, i.e. chemical / process / mechanical, although a business degree may be considered. b) Experienced in sales and commercial discussions with good financial awareness. c) Proven contract negotiation skills. d) An understanding of global sugar markets, trends and opportunities with this marketing or be able to demonstrate the ability to learn this marketing quickly. e) Experienced in developing and managing high performance teams. f) Technically competent to translate sales concepts in to defined, deliverable contracts. g) Able to generate fee estimates for engineering design & equipment supply proposals. h) Excellent communication, interpersonal and networking skills.
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: a) An understanding of global sugar markets, trends and opportunities with this marketing would be highly desirable.
