Avionics Tech $27.78 hourly per CBA DUTIES: Performs scheduled/unscheduled aircraft/essential flight lineservice maintenance actions and Calibration Lab services as directed toaccomplish VX-31 Flight Schedule.
The Aircraft Electronics Technician IIIshall be experienced in maintaining their assigned T/M/S aircraft electricalgenerators, load banks, starters, relays, batteries, actuators, circuit breakers,switches, weapons release and control checks, aircraft conventional weaponsload team member, aircraft conventional weapons load team leader andaircraft instruments.
Also, the candidate shall be knowledgeable in automaticflight control systems, stabilization systems, weapons integration systemsand fuel quantity systems. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complexproblems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencingmanufacturers’ manuals or similar documents.
Examples of such problemsinclude determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluatingelectromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporatingengineering changes.
Work typically requires an understanding of theinterrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performingsuch tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracingrelationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as highfrequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, andcomplex computer control equipment.
Work may be reviewed by supervisorfor general compliance with accepted practices.
This position may providetechnical guidance to lower level technicians. VX-31 Organizational Level experience is most desired and preferred.Technicians shall have T/M/S Naval Organizational aircraft experiencespecific to the platform hired and assigned to support within VX-31.
Shall possess the experience and ability to provide technicalsupport to electronic/structural/mechanical project T/M/S engineers andcustomers, shall possess documented excellent organizational skills inprioritizing workload to meet VX-31 Daily Flight Schedule.
This workerwill be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records, attend ShiftChange maintenance meetings, perform as a QASO, be responsible forproviding guidance and technical expertise to lower level techniciansthroughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts. Electronics Technician III Calibration Technician’s shall comply with allapplicable CNAFINST 4790.2 series, CSEC, METCAL Program Schedulingand Handling directives and the Contractors GOP’s.
CalibrationTechnician’s ensure proper calibration of gauges, IMRL, Test Equipmentand hand-tools.
As appropriate, repair, adjust, align or trim the equipment towithin specified performance standards.
Electronics Tech III CalibrationTechs also ensure all Calibration Standards, SE, IMRL, and equipmentrequiring calibration off-site are properly packaged for shipment with itemcomponent model, number, serial number and calibration due date annotatedon the outside of the shipping container.
When authorized or directedforward the equipment to the directed location. QUALIFICATIONS: Shall have not less than 10 years USN/USMC/USCG Organizational Level NAMP aircraft maintenance support experience.
These technicians shall have not less than 5 years T/M/S specific aircraft maintenance experience for the VX-31 T/M/S aircraft hired to maintain.
Shall have a current valid US State driver’s license.
VX-31 T/M/S experience is most preferred.
Experience as T/M/S applicable PlaneCaptain, T/M/S, Quality Assurance Representative (QAR), Collateral DutyInspector (CDI), Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative(CDQAR), Work Center Supervisor, Data Analyst, Quality AssuranceSafety Observer (QASO), Flight Deck Coordinator is strongly desired.
VX-31 Organizational Level T/M/S experience most desired. Be eligible to qualify for a Secret Level Clearance.
