Description The Area Retail Sales Manager's (ARSM) duties generally include, but are not limited to the following:
*Meet or exceed area sales objectives by coaching, developing, motivating and encouraging sales.
*Must have multi-unit management experience.
*Support Store Managers in achieving consistent operational excellence in all company standards, directives, and initiatives.
*Hires, develops and motivates management staff in assigned area.
Facilitates goal setting, development and performance evaluation of store managers.
*Maintain ownership mentality and accept personal accountability for Area performance.
*Spend approximately half of the work week visiting retail stores (scheduled and unscheduled) to monitor the customer experience and ensure customer satisfaction excellence is being delivered. In addition, provide store and rep performance feedback monthly.
*Maintain 'bench strength' in planning growth opportunities.
*Ensure that all Store Managers have properly completed training requirements timely.
*Hold timely staff meetings to share critical information.
*Perform store operational audits during scheduled and unscheduled visits. Audits will include monthly inventory levels, required HR postings, dress code adherence, etc.
*Reinforce and deliver consistent store standards according to company guidelines.
*Resolve customer concerns in a timely manner.
*Ensure the managers have appropriate inventory availability and that inventory management meet or exceed operational standards.
*Ensure the managers have properly merchandised according to planogram guidelines.
*Provide strategic direction to ensure the communication, implementation, and execution of market and merchandising programs.
*Facilitate large meetings such as training sessions, and other promotional events.
Position Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
*3-5 years successful sales experience plus 3-5 years as a sales manager, developing and coaching sellers.
*Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales objectives.
*Ability to cope and adapt quickly and easily to change in a fast-paced retail environment.
*Strong presentation, interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
*Strong organizational skills, and time management skills.
*Well developed planning and problem-solving skills.
*Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
*Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
*Designated 'driving' position. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, insurance and clean record required. MVR check required for the incumbent.
*Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point is essential.
